Peter Rabbit goes to Scotland

As I drowsily avoided climbing out from under the covers one chilly morning this week, I had the pleasure of hearing Emma Thompson read excerpts (in her lovely English voice) from her new book, The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit.

The Tale of Peter Rabbit, written by Beatrix Potter, was published 110 years ago. The current publisher sent Thompson an irresistible invitation — from "Peter" — to write the new sequel.

I didn't know the actress was also a writer. Thompson won an academy award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Sense and Sensibility, which she also starred in.

Thompson gave tips on reading the book to your children. If you're an "older child," however, like me, the hardcover The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit (affiliate link) comes with an audio CD.  :-)
